Editorial policy

Who writes, how we establish facts, how we are paid, what we refuse to do, and how to get something corrected.

This policy says who writes celeros.online, how we decide that something is true, how the site is paid for, what we refuse to do, and how to get something corrected. It applies to every page on the site.

1. Who writes here

All editorial content on celeros.online is written or approved by Liam Johnson, the responsible editor and director of publication. Every article carries his byline, a publication date and a last-reviewed date. There is no unattributed content.

Where a draft is assisted by any automated tool, a human editor reads, verifies and takes responsibility for every factual claim before publication. We do not publish machine-generated text unchecked, and we do not pass off automated output as first-hand play.

2. How we establish facts

  • Primary sources first. The developer, the publisher, the official site and the game client itself outrank wikis, aggregators and other outlets.
  • First-hand where possible. Claims about how a game plays come from playing it. We say in the article when a claim is based on in-client observation and when it was checked.
  • Numbers are dated. Live-service games change. Any figure we print is marked with the date it was accurate on, and we say plainly that the publisher’s own information prevails where the two differ.
  • Hedge rather than guess. If we cannot verify something, we say we cannot verify it. We will write “this varies by mode and changes between updates” rather than invent a figure that reads better.
  • Sources are listed. Articles carry a sources section naming what was used. Source links are never partner links and we earn nothing from them.

3. How the site is funded

celeros.online is funded entirely by affiliate commission from partner links. There is no display advertising, no sponsored-post programme, no paid placement and no subscription. We collect no personal data, so we have none to sell.

When a reader follows a partner link and goes on to sign up or play, the partner may pay us a commission out of their own budget. The reader is never charged more because of it. Every commercial link on this site is labelled “Partner link” in visible text, carries rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", and appears below a disclosure. The detail is in our advertising disclosure.

4. Advertiser independence

  • No advertiser, affiliate network or publisher sees an article before it goes live.
  • No advertiser can request, pay for or veto a change to editorial content. Requests to alter a factual claim are treated exactly like any other correction request: we check the evidence and act on the evidence.
  • Commission rates play no part in what we cover or how favourably we cover it. We have published, and will continue to publish, criticism of products we hold a partner link to — the article on this site that earns us money also tells readers that the AI is crude and the matchmaking is uneven.
  • If we ever cannot write honestly about a product while holding a commercial relationship with it, we drop the commercial relationship, not the honesty.

5. What we refuse to do

  • No invented testimonials. We do not write “reader stories”, user quotes or success stories that did not happen. If a quote appears on this site, a real identifiable person said it.
  • No invented ratings. We do not publish star ratings, scores or “editor’s choice” badges that are not backed by a stated method.
  • No artificial urgency. No countdown timers, no fake stock levels, no “offer ends tonight”, no “only three places left”.
  • No guaranteed-result claims. We do not promise outcomes, earnings, rankings or results of any kind.
  • No fabricated statistics or specifications. If we cannot source a number, it does not appear.
  • No impersonation. We do not present ourselves as a brand, a news agency or an official channel of any publisher, and we carry a trademark disclaimer on every page.
  • No borrowed imagery. No product screenshots, no stock photography, no publisher artwork. Every illustration on this site is an original SVG drawn in-house.
  • No covert tracking. No cookies, no analytics, no pixels, no fingerprinting, no third-party requests.

6. Corrections procedure

We correct errors openly rather than silently editing them away.

  1. Tell us. Send the page address and what is wrong to info@celeros.online. Evidence helps but is not required.
  2. We acknowledge. We aim to reply within five working days.
  3. We check. We go back to the primary source or into the game client.
  4. We correct and date it. A substantive correction is made on the page and recorded in a corrections section on that same page, with the date. We do not delete the record of the error.
  5. Minor fixes. Typographical and formatting fixes are made without a note. Anything that changes the meaning of a claim gets a note.

The main article on this site carries a worked example: see the corrections section, which lists eight claims we removed or rewrote, each with a date.

7. Right of reply

Any person or company named on this site may request a correction or a right of reply at info@celeros.online. We will publish a factual correction where one is warranted. We will not remove accurate criticism.

8. Review cycle

Articles about live-service products are reviewed at least twice a year and the review date is printed on the page. This policy is reviewed annually.
